What Should The Title Be?
I’m heavily into the editing of what was previously The Glass Onion (until the Netflix film stole my thunder), and am starting to look towards the covers and the blurb, but before that I need to decide on a new title. Based on the contents, I have drawn up a shortlist. The titles of my books always have meaning, and I try to find a fitting mood too, so my options have been drawn from either song titles or lyrics, or from classic literature references to Sirens.
I’ve therefore sent the list (with another secret one, my favourite so far!) to a couple of friends and beta readers to see what their take is. I want to try and fit with the supernatural genre but also keep it snappy and memorable is I can. I know titles can matter less to readers than the cover or the blurb, but for me the latter two tend to be influenced by the name I’ve chosen. Watch this space for a decision, but the later list is…
There She Goes
The High, Thrilling Song Will Transfix
Never (Can) Say Goodbye
Singing Song for Song
Next Time Around
A Tryst
Stay Safe,
Kit
