Well. I’ve had a lovely and quite productive Christmas, and hope you have too. Part of this this was setting myself the challenge of finishingthe edits for Hush, and the book is not registered on Neilson, and the line edit finished. I’m just sorting the blurb and the acknowledgements, and the listing should be up on Amazon this week. For bthe e-book that is, it takes slightly longer for the pb as you need to know the exact page count for the listing and pricing. The process, for those of you who just had interest piqued, is the completed Master, with no formatting, and all mistakes corrected and signed off, then use Calibre software to convert to my upload file for the e-book, then do a format for pdf, followed finally a significant change for the format of the hard copy (as the page dimensions are totally different, you need changes to margins, gutters, fonts, indents, pretty much every setting). Only at this final point can you create your paperback listing (and update the Nielson) as you know how many pages you have.
Aside from Hush, my general grumpiness means that Insiginificance is coming on nicely. I have half a dozen for the blogpost so far, and to be frank (you can be Surely, to misquote a joke), I’m not sure if it will be put together as a book yet. I’ve just finished Yellowface, which was rather good, and very on the ball in places, giving examples of how I’d no doubt be lambasted for some of the content, by people who hadn’t actually read what was written but were bandwagon jumping. So, for now, it will remain the knowledge of the five dozen of so of you who visit regularly, and the drop-ins who call but don’t come back.
Stay safe,
Kit x
