Cover Reveal – tEXt me

Well here you are, the final stage, the reveal of my new cover, and I love it! It got revealed sooner than I expected as I registered isbns and set up the amazon listing, not realising it would automatically pull through the cover. I hope you like it as much as I do!

The main text is pretty much finished, and being proofed as we speak, after which it’s the joys of the formatting process, which will be a bit trickier this time. As large parts are in the form of text conversations I need a layout that will be clear and make sense, but also work both in A4 for proofs, final paperback size, epub and mobi, with the variety of background formatting, styles, justification/not that all that entails, so may prove to be a fiddly job. I’ll post some blogs about that process as it goes on, but aside from a test to make sure the basics work, I can’t start work on this until the text is proofed and corrected/tweaked, or I’d need to make the same changes to numerous versions.

Its also time for all those other joyous and tricky jobs like writing pitches and synopses, both for the book and promo page, but also for reviewers and bloggers. Main working block 1 below (I have five versions, all slightly different angles and styles, some explaining the plot, some as teasers). Hopefully this will draw readers in.

Martin was Tiffany’s first love, and he was everything her husband Nick isn’t. A chance encounter leads to a spark reigniting – all made possible by a Nokia 3310 and some dubious use of emoticons. The wonders of these new mobile phones mean that Tiff can safely text, flirt, and re-live her youth, and that isn’t cheating, is it? Not even if the texts go a little beyond friendship. And it isn’t like she’d ever contemplate an actual affair. Would she?

My hope is that I’ll be able to launch at the beginning of Oct or Nov, but the other job I need to do is look for likely reviewers or bloggers, which is often the hardest part. If you have a blog and would be interested in an advance copy, please do give me a shout (and let me know what format you like to read in) and I’d be very happy to send a copy on in the very near future!

Stay safe,

Kit
