I’m now on the final runup to the release of Has The Lady Been Yet? and am battling with the idiosyncrasies of the KDP platform. The book passed all the requirements, proof looked great, so naturally when the final publish button is pressed the system decides that the text on the spine is too big and in the wrong place. Oh well, better safe than sorry I guess.
In other news I’ve had no luck so far this month with placing short stories, and sales and reads are weak to say the least, but I’m happy to be in extra libraries, and enjoying the first edit of the next novel, at that stage when I’ll hopefully be getting developmental feedback from a couple of people, and find out if it’s a work of genius or a pile of crap. I’m sort of hoping for the former, if I’m honest, but having said that I’m really looking forward to critical feedback too. I find it fascinating that the parts I think are weaker often pass muster with alpha and beta readers, and it is the parts I thought were great that need re-working. So, we’ll see.
But the main focus of course is on the memoir, which will be our December 1st. As always, getting reviews and coverage is the main challenge, but I’ll keep trying and hopefully some kingly bloggers and reviewers will want to read, and some of those I e-mailed a while back might find me in their spam folder and decide to reply. Fingers crossed!
Stay safe,
Kit
