Next Steps

Alongside the challenges I’ve been having with access to the website recently (don’t ask), I’m also still stuck a little in the writer’s funk, and only partially of my making. Aside from having a moan about finnicky health issues (and you can’t be a truly great writer unless you have something insubstantial to moan about), the last month seems to have been a period of particularly flat sales and reads (and reviews), and the artist formerly known as Twitter seems to be taking a sabbatical from showing people my tweets. After a strong(ish) start on YouTube, views also seem to have tailed off, and my oomph for making talking heads seems to have ambled off to hide under a duvet somewhere.

I also am still in a rut about what to write next. I have (as I’ve moaned about before) half a dozen plus major projects I have lined up to write, and multiple short stories (as a sidebar, have you noticed how prevalent brackets seem to be today?) but my enthusiasm for starting and committing to a new project is waning.

It isn’t all bad news. I’m working my way through the edits for ‘Hush’, which I still hope to launch in the new year, and my lead character in Baldur’s Gate now has several hours of questing under their belt, plus I’m resurrecting my reading time a little (Just bought Yellowface to see what all the fuss is about). In my grumbling grouch-like state, I have also tentatively jotted notes for yet another project. More on that next time.

Stay safe,

Kit
