So, rookie mistake one, I’d left the guidelines on the cover template resulting in a dotted line around the different sections. Doofus. Easily fixed, though nothing is ever straightforward. To match the colours on the image I’d needed to flood fill with the colour code in photoshop, filling in the middle of letters to match, and it was a case of either going through that very laborious step again from the source file, or… clone stamp over the guidelines to remove them. Yup, as the result would be the same, I went for the latter.
The Raven Sound is also the slightly smaller format, while it is quite readable, for my tastes it was just a fraction too tight to read without breaking the spine (the ‘gutter’), and I liked the distance to the top of the page in the other one better. I also spotted my acknowledgements had someone adopted a slightly different font. Bizarrely, a safety spellcheck brought up two typo’s that hadn’t been there last time, I’m sure, but happy to fix that. All sorted and uploaded, I’ll await my next proof of that one before releasing into the World.
Man in the Bath, I’m pleased to report, seems to be fine, so have added an ‘Also available by Kit Derrick’ section and this one is now set loose on Amazon if you want to part with some pennies 😊. It’s a bit of a pain to realise that reviews on the UK site don’t show up on the other Amazon sites, but hopefully as the content is the same, and they’ll transfer over from e-book to paperback.
If you’re an author yourself and wonder what self published paperbacks look like, why not buy one of mine and see? 😀 Available on all Amazon platforms.
Stay safe,
Kit
