Cover Design 2

So, the second possible cover concept for tEXt me is here. I really like the use of the photo of the phone, as it brings a reality to the image for me, and the use of the graphics on the screen really reflect some of the content. Sadly, some of the other parts just aren’t appealing to me yet. I’ve decided the subtitle (this version at least) doesn’t need to be there if the handset is, and I really like keeping the author name as it was on The Raven Sound, for branding purposes. The contrast with the background just wasn’t doing it for me either, though I do like the Nokia style font.

The reason I’m posting the routes I’ve rejected is both to talk you through my process, and for those yet to work with a designer, to see the range of options you might be presented with. It is all down to the pitch description you give of course, so me wanting to use the phone means there is going to be some limit on how varied the concepts can be.

Here is another option, but the subtitle and the author name aren’t appealing to me, though I do love the idea of them all being on the actual phone screen. I can see how this concept might be really eyecatching and appealing, and I like the style but my desire for consistency on the name, and the fact I like some of the others more mean this has had a pass too.

Next time I’ll show you the covers that have made it through to the ‘second round’, for development! Thanks again to Blush, the designers, for allowing me to share this stage of the process with you.

Stay safe,

Kit
