Author Talk

Delighted to have delivered an author talk at Formby Library this afternoon. Compact and bijou would be the best description, with a small audience but as they say, quality of quantity. Joking aside, I enjoyed it immensely and it was lovely to have the opportunity to try out a reading from Hope with a smaller audience. It did raise an interesting point for me; not only is it difficult to select passages to read when a major plot twist gets revealed by half of the book, but it is one thing providing translations (with the help of friends) for phrases in French, but quite another when you have to read them yourself!

It was a good insight for future books as well, in ensuring the sections you can read out are dynamic, as the sections I had to choose from were evocative (I think) but not exactly thrilling. Those bits fall into the ‘spoilers’ category.

In other happy news, my novels are now available through the Liverpool library system and (finger crossed) hopefully in other areas soon too. I’m looking to line up another author talk soon, and hopefully ina central location and at a time those I know wanted to attend will be able to come along.

Stay safe,

Kit
